Golf Mk7

As part of all the re-proportionizing the new Gold Marc Lichte managed to design a car that looks better on the standard wheels than the optional 18" ones. With the bigger ones the car looks almost cartoonish, kind of liked a pimped out car. That's a pretty stark contrast to say the current Focus, which needs the big wheels to come into its own, or the Mondeo that even on the biggest wheels is still overburdened by the heft of its body.
Not sure I am convinced by the design overall, though. There are some beat details, the way the chrome line runs from the VW badge on the grill through the headlights into the bumper shutline. But the air intake looks a bit overwrought and overall the proportions seem a bit unbalanced and the overall language is a tad uninspired, though VW would probably refer to it as timeless. That's an approach I usually agree with, but not sure it is perfectly executed here. Time will tell.
